Sondra Cole
Principal/Teacher
Sondra Cole, holds a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction. For the past twenty years she has worked in the role of adolescent counselor, parent advocate, and finally high school principal serving at-risk youth. In her current role as principal she regularly counsels both students and parents on the myriad of educational, social, relational and psychological challenges facing them in today’s culture. In 2003, Mrs. Cole was commissioned to assist in the daunting task of developing and administrating Anchorpoint Christian School where she has been part of the team that developed a unique program that successfully impacts the lives of students by helping the teens to acquire skill sets in personal responsibility and concern for others . As the parent of two grown children and grown step child Sondra has personal experience regarding the challenges of raising and launching teens into adulthood. As a step parent, she understands the particular dynamics of the blended family that can sometimes further complicate an already difficult task.
Mrs. Cole was inspired to work with teens early in life by a high school teacher, with an obvious love for her students. She decided she wanted to be like the teacher she admired who had an uncanny ability to lovingly speak truth into the lives of teens while holding them accountable for their behaviors. After high school Sondra earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a Concentration in Psychology from Antioch University, a university renowned for cutting edge work in psychology. During her time there she developed an understanding of adolescent development and honed her skills as an adolescent counselor during a lengthy internship at a youth shelter for runaway teens. She further developed her skills as a counselor as a team member of a Los Angeles chapter of Americorps National Service, our country’s domestic peace corps, where she served as case manager and director of a soup kitchen and transitional housing shelter for the battered women and their children. In this role, Mrs. Cole, provided life skills classes for both teens and parents as well as case management and counseling. In addition, she sat on the Los Angeles County Private Industry Council focused in particular on youth education and job development through the Job Training Partnership Act program. It is Mrs. Cole’s great joy to bring the culmination of these experiences to families with teens in order to assist parents in
launching teens into their adult lives while maintaining respectful relationships in the home.

Ken Bradley
IT Manager/Water Operator
kbradley@anchorpointgilroy.org
Ken was born in Cooper, Texas and grew up in El Sobrante, a small town in the Bay Area. His mother and Grandmother were very religious women who insisted that their children grow up knowing God’s love. After graduating from high school in 1974, he moved to San Francisco to attend Heald Institute of Technology. After graduating with an A.S. degree in Electronic Technology he moved to the rapidly growing Silicon Valley, was first hired as an electronic technician at Fairchild Semiconductor. Ken continued to develop his troubleshooting skills working on a variety of electronic devices including large integrated circuit testers, microwave transmitters, particle counting machines, color matching machines, and early video arcade games. Technical experience was in high demand in Silicon Valley, so Ken decided to focus on the emerging computer market. While working at Exidy Inc., Ken learned to work on some of the early computer systems. He then went to work for Tandem Computer Corporation, who was the leader in transaction processing machines (these are the computers that made ATM machine possible). After six years in manufacturing Ken was transferred to field service where he learned to deal with customers under fire. “When you arrive on site and a $10 million dollar computer does not work, and the company is losing money every minute the computer is down, you really learn to think on your feet while making the best use of your time, all while anger customers are breathing down your back.” After receiving many awards for outstanding customer service, Ken was transferred to work on BART, which was on sensitive accounts due to some trouble implementing a Tandem solution in the BART stations. Ken was the technical lead that directed the installation of computers into each BART station.
With twin boys begging for his attention Ken was then promoted to a Pre-sales Analyst position where he had to configure and support sales reps and customers around the U.S. , more importantly it allowed him to work from home to enable him to be there for his sons as they grew up. Both of his sons are very good athletes and are playing baseball at Mission College in Santa Clara.
Ken now takes care of all our technology needs of Anchorpoint, has been certified as a Water Operator to legally operate the school’s well, assist Pastor Kinoshita, and will help whoever has a need.

Sally Thoman
Teacher
My journey in the ministry of Christian education began thirty years ago when I was presented with a philosophy of education that was clearly Biblical. The “Principle Approach”, a method by which the principles of the Word of God are deduced for every academic discipline- was and continues to be, the most exciting and fruitful manner by which to cultivate in the student a love and knowledge of God – resulting in the formation of Christian character. My teacher, the Holy Spirit, called me with the promise that He would direct my paths, enlighten my understanding, and empower me by His Spirit. During the last thirty years, my educational experience includes teaching in public schools, private schools, and home -school co-operatives; I held the position of Administrator and Master-Teacher at Cornerstone Christian School where I taught at least one Language Arts course each year, as well as, trained a staff of twenty-three teachers the philosophy and methodology of the “Principle Approach”
I have taught almost every subject to students – ages ten through eighteen – and developed curricula for a number of language arts courses including: English Grammar and Composition – the Principle Approach, Public Speaking, and Writing Through Literature - the Notebook Approach. .Currently, I am teaching cultural geography and two English courses to high school students at Anchorpoint Christian Schools. It is my joy to be a part of the students’ educational experience as they develop critical thinking skills and a Christian World View.

I have worked with high school students for 12 years and love to build on relationships. The experience I have learned through working with high school students is in a small school atmosphere gives a opportunity for relationships like a “Family.” This is the one among many benefits of working at Anchorpoint. The students and Staff know each other well. I love to be involved with their community services and to see the students experience the true meaning of servant hood. I also enjoy working with the students to encourage them about their options for college. I love working at Anchorpoint!!
