In 1996, American Anchorpoint Academies, Inc., a California nonprofit religious organization, was founded by Stephen Malone, Sr. and a few friends for the purpose of obtaining land in the South County on which to build a Christian educational center, kindergarten through college. In April of 1999, Mr. Malone heard a voice that asked him how anxious he was to see the school get started. He answered, “Dear God, you know I do”. He then heard, “Well, then do something about it!”. In December of 1999, Mr. Malone did do something about it. He donated 146 acres of debt-free land in Morgan Hill to Anchorpoint to develop and sell to generate funds to purchase land and build the schools. In 2001, Mr. Malone’s wife Connie joined him on the board.
In September of 2003 the doors of Anchorpoint Christian Schools were opened in the South Valley Community Church facilities. There were 21 students in grades 9 – 11. In the spring of 2004, the Board offered to purchase the historic San Ysidro Elementary School located on Pacheco Pass Highway from the Gilroy Unified School District as the site of the new high school. On August 5, 2004 the Gilroy Unified School District unanimously approved the sale of the San Ysidro School to Anchorpoint. The board, administration, faculty, and staff were extremely excited to start the 2004 – 2005 school year at a “real” campus!. Additional renovation and significant upgrading has taken place since that time including new sports fields, basketball courts, locker rooms and chapel area.
Mr. Malone’s vision for a Christian education system in the South County area continues to take shape. Mrs. Malone’s desire for a school where quality education is integrated with a biblical world view and Christian values is becoming a reality. Both Mr. and Mrs. Malone want each student to come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and to become productive citizens in their community and in the Kingdom of God.
Our Mission Statement
To provide a Christ -centered learning environment where the needs of both strong and struggling students are addressed through creative learning strategies, individualized education plans and the intervention of caring, well-trained administrators, teachers and coaches. We will strive to be proactive in enrolling students who due to their family’s financial circumstances would not ordinarily have the opportunity to benefit from a private Christian education.
Our chief goal is for every student to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to discover their true value and significance in His sight. We are committed to providing programs and activities that promote good character, equipping our students to be positive contributors in their homes, neighborhoods and the community at large.
The Bible is God’s Word to all men. It was written by human authors, who were under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it is inspired by God, it is without error in the original writings, and is the complete and supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.
( 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21)
There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Mark 12:29; Matthew 28:18, 19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is now our High Priest and Advocate.
(John 1:1,14,18;5:17,18;8:58;10:30-33; Rom.3:24,25)
The Holy Spirit is equal in the trinity to the Father and the Son, thus making Him God. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and to convict men of sin, regenerate the believer, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.
(Acts 5:3,4; 2 Corinthians 3:18; John 14:16,17;15:26; 16:7-15)
Man was created in the image of God, but fell into sin and became alienated from God, acquired a sin nature and incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God.
(Genesis 1:26; 3:1-17; Romans 5:12, 3:22,23; Ephesians 2:12)
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his own sin and failure by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offering of forgiveness can man experience justification and forgiveness of sin.
(Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 3:24; 1 Peter 1:18,19; 2:24; Titus 3:5,6)
The Lord Jesus Christ will return to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. His return will be personal, visible. The expectation of this, our “Blessed Hope,” has a vital bearing on our personal life and service as believers.
(I Thes. 4:13-18; Acts 1:11; John 14:1-4; Rev. 20:6)
All mankind will be bodily resurrected. Everyone will either exist eternally in union with God through forgiveness and salvation or exist eternally separated from God by sin and self choice.
(John 5:29; Mark 9:43-48; 2 Thes. 1:8,9; Rev. 20:11-15; 21:1-4)
The true Church of Jesus Christ is a spiritual organism made up of all persons who, through faith in Christ, have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. This spiritual organism is called the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. In addition, all members of this spiritual organism are directed by Scripture to associate themselves in local assemblies for the purpose of edification and evangelism.
(1 Cor. 12:12-27; Eph. 1:22,23; Col. 1:17,18; Hebrews 10:25)
God has given two sacraments for believers to share in. One is “Water Baptism” as a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to new life. The other is the “Lord’s Supper” which is a memorial service, setting forth in a symbolic manner the life and death of the Lord Jesus Christ.
(Acts 8:38,39; Romans 6:1-11; Matthew 26:26-30; 1 Cor. 11:24-32)
